KENYA SANITATION CONFERENCE 2019

The Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation will be hosting the first-ever Kenya Sanitation conference from 28th to 31st October 2019 at KICC Nairobi.

Sanitation is the access and hygienic use of toilet or latrine facilities and the safe disposal of human waste. Sanitation is a right enshrined in the Kenya Constitution, Clause 43) b) and is also included in the Global Goals, Goal 6. The SDG 6.2 requires that by 2030, Kenya achieves access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation

Ever wondered where your “POO” ends up once it is deposited in the toilet or an open area? Do you know the connection between this disposal and the water you drink from your tap or borehole? Are you aware that there are innovations that turn human waste into productive wealth? Do you know that the water you use in your toilets and bathrooms could be put into good and productive use and not just wasted? Should waste go to waste?

The upcoming sanitation conference is meant to start a conversation that will provide answers to the above questions. A conversation that will help put in place new policies that will govern sanitation, not only nationally but also at the county government level.

At JAPMOR KENYA, we are excited to be part of this conversation since, water and sanitation are knotted hence the acronym WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). The summarized conference theme of the five building blocks of sanitation in Containment, Transportation, Treatment, Disposal and Reuse of Water all cut across the 6Pillars of Japmor Enterprise Limited.

Join us through the interactive engagement of this conversation

See you at the Kenya Sanitation Conference 2019
